Here’s Why Painting The Entire Wall From Corner To Corner Is Better Than Doing Small Touch-ups

Painting Touch-Up Texas Painting and Gutters

We’re here to answer that question directly from our owner, “touch-ups rarely match.

Whether it's for kitchens, bathrooms, cabinets or any other area of your home, we don’t like to do touch-ups for various reasons, such as:

Difficult To Blend

A touch-up may blend in if you have recently painted, less than a few months prior, and only if you’re using the exact same bucket of paint. The majority of the time, touch-ups do not blend well.

Variations In Sheen

Paint sheen can change over time after it’s been on the walls.

When using leftover paint, or even a new bucket of the exact kind of paint, the same color and sheen, there’s a good chance it may look more like a wet spot, becoming more noticeable than the area you were trying to cover up. And just as the sheen of the paint fades, the color will also.

Interior Paint Color Fades

You may not notice it by looking at your walls, but paint colors fade over time. Have you ever removed a picture from the wall, and the color looks different underneath?

Touch-ups Take A Lot Of Time

A great painter will do their best to feather out the paint to blend the touch-up in, but once it’s dried, the homeowner will notice that it does not match the original paint and will want it redone. Doing this will cost the company a lot of time and money. This is yet another reason why we do not like to do touch-ups.

We get calls for touch-ups, mainly when people are interested in selling their homes, but a buyer will not want a bit of fresh paint when they could have a whole new paint job!

A freshly painted room looks much better than seeing shiny spots on the wall. Don’t give a buyer a reason to scratch your home off the list because they see something they must fix on their own.

Spending more money to get the best look could help you get top dollar when selling.

Texas Painting and Gutters takes great pride in every job, so we recommend painting from corner to corner (instead of doing touch-ups) for a cohesive and polished look.
