December 14, 2017Decisions! Decisions! Hiring the right painting company in Texas can be a big decision. With so many out there, how can you be sure you’re making the right choice?
Here are some tips to get you started.
Ask Others/Reviews
Anyone you know recently had their homes painted? Do you like the results? Ask who did their work. Look for reviews on Google, the Company’s Facebook page, Nextdoor & BBB. Do they have a company website?
Get An Estimate
Get multiple painting estimates if you want. If estimates differ greatly, ask why. Make sure the company doesn’t plan to cut corners or use lower quality products. Make sure you’re comparing apples to apples. At Texas Painting And Gutters we will walk around your home, inspect and measure. We will provide you with a detailed quote letting you know what needs to be done. Of course, sometimes there could be an unexpected item that we didn’t see for some reason, (there was a hole behind the picture that needs to be fixed), but we will always get permission before doing the extra work. Our project managers will explain the bid in detail to make sure you know what to expect and how long the job should take.
How Long Should The Job Take?
This is an important question? Actually, a professional project manager should let you know this while explaining the bid. Ask about crew size? Some companies may only have a 1 person crew, which could take 3-4x as long to finish your job. This may not seem too bad, but if they are inside of your home and they’ve prepped it correctly, it could be a huge inconvenience to you. Imagine your kitchen is being painted, instead of being a 1 day job, it turns into 4 and not usable. While this may be a plus for some 🙂 other’s may find this inconvenient. Make sure your home will be the only job this crew will be working on and doesn’t need to split their time with multiple jobs. This happens more than you realize.
Ask About Insurance
An uninsured contractor might save you money, but leaves you vulnerable if anything happens to your property, and leaves you paying for any damages. Texas Painting And Gutters is Bonded & Insured. Make sure the company guarantees their work.A good company will make it right if you are not 100% satisfied.
Listen to your gut
Does something seem off? Was the project manager less than professional? Does the deal they’re offering seem too good be true? If so, it just might be. Go with your gut.
