January 21, 2020First of all, now that it’s officially 2020, we want to wish all of our readers, clients, employees, vendors, friends and family a Happy New Year!
Now that 2019’s in the rear view mirror, it’s a great time to start planning your home improvement projects for the New Year.
Whether those home improvement projects include renovation work, home additions, a new deck or porch, or even just some general home maintenance or interior painting, you’ll most likely be picking out some new paint color combinations for the finishing touches for each project.
If you’re having trouble deciding which paint colors to choose to mark the year 2020, why not choose a professional paint company’s top choice for this year (like Sherwin-Wiliiams)? 🙂
Sherwin-Williams Color Of The Year 2020 Is…
For the past 4 years, the Sherwin-Williams paint forecast team has given its top pick for “Color of the Year” to highlight their choice for the latest trends in the year ahead for interior paint color.
For the year 2020, they’ve chosen the paint color “Naval” for their Color of the Year.
As mentioned on Sherwin-Williams’ Color of the Year 2020 Page:
Naval is an empowering presence that evokes a sense of confidence. A serene shade with a hint of opulence, it works well with polished marble, gleaming metals, soft leather and sophisticated patterns.
Best When Paired With These Color Accents
On top of their Color of the Year selection, they also include accent colors that work well with that particular paint color.
To pair with their “Naval” paint color (Sherwin-Williams code SW 6244 (253-C6)), they’ve chosen “Tarnished Trumpet” (SW 9026 142-C3), “Midday” (SW 6695 137-C2) and “Kale Green” (SW 6460 159-C6).
Additionally, on their Paint Color Explorer page, they also recommend the following coordinating colors: “Icicle” (SW 6238), “Ramie” (SW 6156) and “Roycroft Suede” (SW 2842).
Best Interior Spaces To Start In 2020
With “Naval” being more in the neutral color palette range, it can easily be used to paint in several locations around your home. Customers have used “Naval” for a painting kitchen cabinets, front doors, nightstands and even cribs and nurseries.
Though each of these applications of “Naval” work incredibly well, here at Texas Painting and Gutters we believe the best place to start using Naval would be for painting your living room.
Why your living room?
For many families, the living room is one of the most used locations in their homes. Often used as a communal meeting spot at the end of the day, painting your living room “Naval” allows everyone in your family to experience the new color scheme.
Once everyone has gotten a chance to get used to “Naval”, you’ll be able to move on to painting your kitchen cabinets, bathroom and other places around your home. Be sure to include those accent colors to give your home some variation and contrast as well.
