April 3, 2025Moving Into A New Home This Summer? Here’s What To Do If Don’t Like The Interior Paint Color

Summer is almost upon us, which means school will be out soon for the summer
That also means there will be a lot of people buying and selling homes.
Today’s blog will focus on moving into your new home.
We get several calls a week about people wanting an estimate before closing on their new home. Whether it is moving into a new build, or previously occupied, it’s new to them.
Usually, it’s for painting the interior to make it their own style. We love those calls and are happy they thought about Texas Painting and Gutters.
Contact Your Local Paint Contractor Early
A great time to call a contractor for an estimate is once you’re under contract and you have a closing date.
Your realtor can coordinate a time with the current homeowner to let us in so we can measure and go over with you what you’re wanting to get painted.
Is it just the walls, or walls, ceilings and trim? Doors?
Painting On A Budget
If you’re on a budget, painting the walls will make the biggest impact.
If you can afford to paint the ceilings at the same time, we suggest painting them white so in the future if you decide to change the wall color, the white ceiling should complement any color.
Our New Home Interior Painting Process
Once we do all the measurements, we will present you with a detailed bid. If you choose to go with us, we only ask that you sign/date the bid asap; this will get you into the queue for scheduling, even if your closing date is 30-45 days from then.
This ensures that you’re in the queue, we can always push it back until you’re ready.
Please do not wait until a week or two before closing to start the estimate process. Chances are that any good painting company will be booked out several weeks. If you move in before the painting can begin, no worries.
We do this every day for homeowners; the majority of our work is done by occupied homes.
Our crews are professionals and are used to moving & covering furniture. We use a lot of paper, plastic and tape for every job.
We wish you all the luck in your new home and remember, once you’re under contract and have a closing date, that is an ideal time to call for your free estimate for painting and or gutters.
